Before “Keto” became a buzzword on social media, I was using it to manage medical conditions way back in 2015 and applied it to enhance sports performance in 2019.
My first research paper, titled âDose-Dependent Effects of Carbohydrate Restriction on Insulin Resistance Markers in Elite Indian Athletes: A 6-Month Interventional Study,â is about to be published. With it, I am embarking on my journey into low-carbohydrate nutrition research.

For clinical clients (PCOD, diabetes, thyroid, metabolic health): Yes. Recent labs within 3 months are required â without them we’re guessing, and we don’t guess.
For performance athletes: Labs are helpful but not mandatory. Your initial consultation will determine if specific tests would meaningfully improve your plan.
If you don’t have recent labs, we’ll recommend exactly which tests to request from your physician.
Will I have to give up my favourite foods?
Honestly â it depends on your condition and goals. If you’re managing diabetes, metabolic issues, or working toward body composition changes, there will be meaningful dietary changes. That’s the clinical reality, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
Shwetha’s approach tends toward low-carb principles where clinically indicated â not as a blanket rule, but because the evidence supports it for many of the conditions she works with.
